AmeriCorps for Community Engagement and Education (ACEE) is a national service, early literacy intervention program that works to ensure all children build a strong foundation in literacy during their first years in school. Ashera Project

Ashera Project, Inc. is an Austin based non-profit youth development program, focusing its efforts on at-risk youth in high schools. The Austin Academy

The Austin Academy is a nonprofit Adult Education services center. We train people to pass the GED tests. We teach workplace competencies and computer literacy skills. Our job developer helps the participants find employment at $9.00 an hour or higher. www.austinacademy.org


Austin Area Garden Council, Inc.

As the support organization for Zilker Botanical Garden, the AAGC promotes the education of citizens of all ages in the art of gardening. This includes conservation of flowers, trees, and the protection of wildlife. Austin CEO Foundation

Children should have an opportunity to get a great education regardless of their financial situation. Grants of $1000 per year for three years for at-risk students provide a school choice not normally available. Families contribute to the tuition. Austin Partners in Education

Austin Partners in Education creates and fosters community and school partnerships that provide all AISD students preparation for college and career. Building on a historical base of Mentoring and Adopt-a-School, Partners has expanded programming. Autism Society of Greater Austin

Breakthrough

Breakthrough provides a path to college for high-potential, low-income Austin youth who will be first-generation college graduates. The families and Breakthrough make a six-year commitment, starting in middle school, to summer school at UT, mentoring, college counseling, and parent workshops. Camp Fire USA Balcones Council

Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders. Camp Fire USA Balcones Council is a not-for-profit coeducational youth organization that serves 10 central Texas counties. Capital IDEA

Capital IDEA lifts working families out of poverty by sponsoring educational services that lead to life-long financial independence. Caritas of Austin

Our mission is to offer a continuum of resources for people in poverty that will assist them with their income stability, housing needs and the life skills to maintain them.  20,000 adults and children in Travis County benefited from our Basic Needs and Self-Sufficiency Programs in 2006. www.caritasofaustin.org 


Central Texas FIRST LEGO League

FLL is an international program that introduces children to the fun experience of solving real-world problems by applying math, science, and technology. The Cipher-Austin's Hip Hop Project

We build a community of young leaders, writers, spoken word and hip hop artists and to strengthen the East Austin community in multiple ways. Coalition for Emotional Literacy

We believe there is a direct correlation between animal abuse, family violence, and criminal behaviors. We strive to increase positive behaviors and diminish destructive behaviors towards humans and non-humans through education programs. College Forward

College Forward provides college preparatory services to motivated, economically disadvantaged students, in order to facilitate their transition to college and make the process exciting and rewarding. Femme Film Texas, a project of Moving Image Arts & Education


Femme Film Texas teaches filmmaking and digital technology to young women and girls, with an emphasis on reaching underserved populations. During in-school programs and summer camps, girls create and exhibit original video projects. www.femmefilmtexas.org

The Friends is a group of volunteers dedicated to the support of the Austin Public Library. GENaustin

GENaustin inspires and prepares girls to develop critical thinking skills and become self sufficient. We train and employ high school girls to teach middle school girls a research-based curriculum. The Moore-Weis Children's Center of Austin

Our Center is committed to providing a total educational and therapeutic experience for children two through eight years of age experiencing communication disabilities. Scottish Rite Learning Center of Austin

The Scottish Rite Learning Center of Austin(SRLC) focuses on the evaluation and treatment of Central Texas children with dyslexia. SRLC offers a two-year academic language therapy program to children with dyslexia without charge to the families.
