Helping Hand Home for Children will host the 11th Annual Champions for Children Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at the Hilton Austin Hotel. The luncheon honors non-profit caregivers and volunteers who work tirelessly providing nurturing care to children in crisis. This year's keynote speaker is Lee Woodruff. Mrs. Woodruff is a contributing editor for ABC's Good Morning America and is known for her compelling account of her husband Bob's recovery following his roadside injury in Iraq. Proceeds from this event benefit the Helping Hand Home. The Home is a non-profit organization that provides residential treatment, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, and charter school education services for emotionally disturbed children. Since 1893, HHH has provided compassionate care and services to children who have suffered unspeakable abuse.
