Why We’re Here

I Live Here, I Give Here’s mission is to deepen and expand the culture of personal philanthropy by inspiring Central Texans to invest more money in our community. We educate and connect individuals and non-profits so more Central Texans experience the personal benefit of increased philanthropy.

Austin is a vibrant city with a personality all its own. The people are passionate, driven, and generous volunteers of their time and talent. But that’s not enough. The biggest problem facing Austin Nonprofits is there is not enough money.

For a city so involved in protecting its natural habitats and native small businesses, the nonprofit needs of Austin should be equally met. But the severe shortage of funds for Nonprofits hurts the community every day.

This is where I Live Here, I Give Here steps in. Our main purpose is to connect people like YOU with the issues you care about and the Nonprofits that support them.

I Live Here, I Give Here is proud of the work we have accomplished since our launch in 2007. We connect the people of Austin with the causes they care about.

We partner with nonprofit groups so they can be more accessible to you. We spotlight specific needs in Austin every month to let you know how you can help.

What We Do

The thought behind Austin Involved is simple: give Austinites a chance to Discover, Do and Donate with a group of people focused on making an impact in our Central Texas community!

Every month, members of Austin Involved learn about three local nonprofits, cast their votes, and give a small amount of money and time to one organization. Here's how it works each month: Each member contributes $25. Three compelling nonprofit videos are presented to membership. We vote and select a "Charity of Choice" to receive our pool of funds. Then we follow our money and see our impact firsthand by doing a 3-hr service project at our chosen nonprofit. That’s it!

By giving both our time and our money together, we are educating ourselves on the needs of the community and the nonprofits addressing those needs. Austin Involved also provides more than our monthly Charity of Choice program. You can take your education in philanthropy further with initiatives like the Board Internship Program or you can socialize and network with other members during our social gatherings.

We are the future philanthropists of Austin and collectively making a huge impact on the organizations in Austin who need our help. Come get involved as we meet the innovative, inspiring and tireless nonprofit organizations that drive our great city. Are you in?
